About Us

There is a huge demand for good quality Wool and Wool Blended Fabrics & Blankets in the market. To cater to these demands, Amritsar Swadeshi Textile Corporation Pvt. Ltd. is offering a wide range of these products to its customers. Incepted in 1957, we are India's largest manufacturer and exporter of a range of Wool and Wool Blended Fabrics & Blankets such as Relief Blankets, Institutional Blankets, Traditional Blankets, Mink Blankets, Woollen Fabrics, etc. In addition, we are also an importer of some of these products. The import markets are Australia, Europe, UK, and USA. Currently, we are exporting to more than 27 countries and are proud to be the recipient of Highest Export Award in Blanket for eight times in the last 10 years.

For the production of all our products, we have state-of-the-art production units viz Spinning Unit, Shuttles Weaving Unit, Powerloom Units, Woollen Finishing Unit, and Acrylic Mink Blankets manufacturing unit. Our Woollen Unit has all-inclusive facilities to convert the ideal raw material into Garment, without any help of external units. Our spinning plants meets the demands of various products ranging from "Coarse yarn counts like 2Nm to 6Nm for manufacturing Blankets" to "yarn counts like 6 Nm to 20 Nm for manufacturing fabrics and knitwear". In addition, our Garment producing unit is equipped with 194 Juki stitching machines, 27 Overlock and buttoning machines, 223 Singer/Union Special and other special application stitching machines.

Brief History of Our Company

Amritsar Swadeshi Textile Corporation Pvt. Ltd, started as a blanket manufacturing unit. At present, it is amongst the India's premier companies engaged in the segment of heavy woollen and blanket manufacturing. Our company is basically a conglomerate of four units that are situated in different parts of the country. We are engaged in complete assortment such as Woollen Blanket, Woollen Fabric and Garment manufacture.

Infrastructure

Our infrastructure broadly comprises Spinning Unit, Shuttles Weaving Unit, Powerloom Units, and Woollen Finishing Units. Along with these unit, we also have a special unit for Acrylic Mink Blankets, which goes by the name "Swadeshi Koreatex". It is a unit of Amritsar Swadeshi Textile Corporation Pvt. Ltd. and assists in meeting all the needs concerning the blankets. A brief of all our units is given below:

Spinning Unit

This unit has the capacity of 10000 Meters or 4350 Blankets per day and is equipped with following machines:

There is also a second unit, which is engaged in the manufacture of Relief Blankets and includes 2 raising machines along with a rotary press. It has the capacity of 4600 Meters or 2000 Blankets per day.

"Swadeshi Koreatex" - Acrylic Mink Blankets

The Acrylic Mink Blanket plant known as "Swadeshi Koreatex" is a integrated unit of Amritsar Swadeshi Textile Corporation Pvt. Ltd. It was set up in 1998, to cater to the needs of domestic and international for Acrylic Mink Blankets. This is among the ultra modern Mink Blanket manufacturing plant in Asia; having the capacity of 2500 Blankets per day. The unit includes 2 Automatic Warpers and a set of Double Pile Rachel Knitting Machines with the capacity of 6000 Meters per day. These are followed by:

• Slitting machine
• Manual mending equipment
• Computer controlled 8 Colour printing machine
• Heat setting machine
• Washing and drying plant

The entire system is completely automatic and has the capacity of 2000 blankets per day. The system is supported by a manual printing equipment that supplements the manufacture by extra 500 blankets per day.

Our Blanket division is a Woolmark Licensee & possesses ISO 9001: 2000 Certification for Spinning, Weaving, and Finishing of Woollen Blankets, Shawls and Fabrics. It is among the first heavy woollen manufacturer in India that has acquired ISO 9001: 2000 certification for complete process starting from raw material to the end product.

Finishing section

It is online automated finishing plant that consists of Polishing machine and Three Automatic Raising Machines that are followed by:

• 1 polishing machine
• 2 double brushing machines
• 1 single polishing shearing machine
• 1 single brushing machine
• 2 double polishing shearing machines for providing final luster to the blanket.

These are followed by manual cutting, inspection and satin binding machines that have the production capacity of 2500 blankets/ day.
